2017 Welcome to the New Year!

Welcome to the New Year and welcome back to my blog.  I know it's not January 1st anymore but life is life, for me things have been busy.  Holiday schedules were busy for everyone here and plus I was sick with some sort of bug, YUCK!  Feeling somewhat better now and hours at my job have gone down also since the holidays are over.  My family had a very nice holiday with all my children being home at once for a few days between Christmas and the New Year.   My little family is suddenly growing into a smaller version of the family I remember through my childhood with the in-laws and grand daughters.  Missing my Mom was the only downfall, but did get some real quality time with my Dad on Christmas day and again while my son and daughter-in-law ( I just love saying that, daughter-in-law ) were visiting from out of town for a few days.
I also received some very welcomed gifts (my birthday was in December also, yeah me, I scored this year).  I got a new Silhouette Cameo bundle and Brother Label Maker,  both I had been wanting for some time now.  I am also going through sort of a class on youtube by Cat Hand called Mixed Media Morsels. Have I mentioned before I love to learn things that are interesting to me?  I learn a lot from youtube.  I still have more to learn on my Cameo and I have just started with the label maker and not much of it makes a lot of sense to me just yet, but hey, I can make a label with it.

Why I work part-time and Swagbucks

I have to work part-time because my family enjoys to eat.  Yes we could skim by on my husband’s paycheck, but it isn’t pretty and it isn’t good for his soul as he worries about money.  So I maintain a part-time job to help out somewhat, after all his soul needs all the help it can get at this point.  ;)  I work part-time as a cashier, oh I know there is another name for it on the paperwork, but in my 35 plus years in the workforce I am a cashier.  I have had various “cashier, sales clerk, teammate” positions over the years.  My first job at 16 years old was at “T.G.&Y.”, yep I’m that old, evenings and weekends and holidays have been my life for over half my life.  I’ve had some full time jobs also, but life, or I should say family always came first and for reasons that were enough for me, this is the path I have taken. I have some medical issues we are working on at the moment and some extra money, even though I can't actually physically put in more hours, is very needed at this moment to help with the cost of doctors. The reason why I want to turn my passion for crafts into some type of income. But to make the art, to sell the art, takes time and money as they say. Money is tight for us at the moment so I use Swagbucks to earn points that I then turn into gift cards. I usually go for the Amazon gift card, buy my supplies as I already have a wish list setup. All I have to do is maybe watch a few clips, answer a quick survey. This is by far no get rich quick plan, not even a get rich plan. But it does help a little and every little bit helps. Even to help out with Christmas coming up way too soon I could use my SB's to get gift cards for gifts that wouldn't cost me anything other than a little of my time that I really wasn't doing anything with anyway, because I earn these points as I'm drinking my first cup of coffee and getting ready to plan out my day. Which is something I intend to do is get my life more organized so stayed tuned for blogs where we can learn about organization together.

Welcome! Grab a cup of whatever and join me.

Welcome to my blog!

I am a 50 something working wife, mother, mamaw, daughter, sister and friend and dream of learning what it’s like to be ME, just me.  I have a love for coffee, music, crafting and playing The Sims.  I also lean a little towards a witchy side to my life, as I believe in the magic/magick, I believe in the power of belief.  I also have a FlowerChild side to me, I believe in the power of LOVE plain and simple.  I hope you follow along with me as I learn what it’s like to be just me.
